Chantry Row (Rhesdair Siantri)

Portmeirion Chantry Row

Chantry Row was built in 1961-62, renovated in 1993, and contains several examples of Sir Clough's trompe l'oeil illusions. Although it appears to be line of four two-storey cottages, the upper windows are actually fake painted ones, and it consists of only two hotel suites.

An unusual feature at the north end of the row is the distinctive 'onion dome' facade, which, as you can see in this picture, is simply hiding a boiler chimney.
