Note from the creators of Virtual Portmeirion: We started this web site as a labor of love, and it has been most gratifying to receive these messages of appreciation and encouragement. It makes all the work we've put into it feel worthwhile when we hear how much someone enjoyed a cyber-stroll through Portmeirion once again. Thanks to all of you for the kind words, and for visiting our corner of the virtual planet.

Having known and enjoyed Portmeirion for twenty years (a visit there at age nine confirmed my own intention to be an architect!), I was delighted to find your excellent site which allows me to revisit whenever I wish. --GHughesarch@aol.com

Fabulous...just the thing to keep me going until my next visit. Thanks Jan Rothwell, Lancashire.

Outstanding web site! Thanks ever so much. --ndora.foster@verizon.net

A really exellent site! Even as a long standing customer I found it very interesting. -- Martyn@mdlp.co.uk

It's a lovely site. You have managed to eloquently and tastefully capture the unique essence of a very magical place. I have been to Portmeirion only once, but after visiting your site I feel like I have been there many times. --tinaadam@altavista.net

Excellent website. Glad I found it. I hadn't been to Portmeirion for many years, and then we were booked to play for a wedding. It was really nice to wander round all the old familiar paths. -- Best wishes, Paul Baker, Elizabethan Musician.

Really enjoyed the site, some excellent photos. Will be returningthere in August for a holiday! Will be adding link to you from our site ! TPF The Penny Farthing Prisoner fan site: --ronnie500@rsoo.freeserve.co.uk

The web site is great, but not as great as being there. Our visit was a wonderful experience, much better than expected. The mix of fantasy and reality in architecture and how well it works is outstanding. Plus, it is a lot of fun to make the small discoveries that are all over the place. Each time you move from one location to another, the perception of where you are changes, like magic. --tberry@slip.net

I love the site. It's a good substitute for being there. best regards, Brian Bollen

I spent five weeks in Wales last summer, and am hoping to return again a year from now. My visit to Portmeirion was one the the many highlights of my trip. I do not think a day passes that I do not think about my time in Wales. I am fascinated with its beauty and people. I have traveled to Japan, Italy, Sicily, Austria and Switzerland, as well as many places in the United States and Western Canada, but Wales holds a very special place in my heart. Thank you for having this wonderful website and allowing me to experience beautiful Portmeirion once again. --Laurie Helm, Bremerton, Washington USA

What an extraordinary amount to work you have done. Thank you so much for the opportunity to visit Portmeirion so extensively. --Dana Bogany

Please file this under "words of encouragement." I love your site, almost as much as I love Portmeirion itself. I've only been once, but a wonderful three days. I especially appreciated the thoroughness of your site--the tours of rooms' interiors and of a walk along the Beach were just the kind of things any serious armchair re-visitor could want. My videocamera jammed after a hike up Snowdon--your images are a consolation until I can go back again. Many thanks for your site. --Ronald Levao/Susan Wolfson

I was researching places for a vacation and wondered if the Hotel Portmeirion of "The Prisoner" fame was still in operation. I was surprised at the fantastic website you have designed. It is the finest and most informative I have found on the web. Very simple and uncluttered too. After a few times through it I feel like I've already been there. Hmmm! Maybe I have! Good job! --Rich Galecki, Warrenton, Virginia

You did a wonderful job on the web site! We're planning on coming to U of Wales several times in the next few years and were searching for surrounding areas on the web. I think will come to Portmeirion and never return! --Don Felty

I just finished touring your Virtual Portmeirion website. Remarkable! I have wondered about this place for years in the back of my mind, ever since watching the most thought-provoking show on television, "The Prisoner", when I was 10. Now, I'm 32, and while I haven't seen "The Prisoner" in several years, "The Village" has continued to pester me as being the most mysterious and unusual place I have ever seen in my entire life. Every so often, I would try to find it on a map of Wales when I would happen upon one, and with every map I'd look at, I still could not verify that the place ever existed, that is, until I bought a computer last month. 22 years of wondering are now over. Yours is one of the best (if not the best) websites I have located thus far for ANY subject, and now that I give it some thought, it's safe to say that it is the best, and I encourage you to keep up the super good work! I will be anxiously awaiting any new updates you make to Virtual Portmeirion, especially up-to-date news pictures dealing with any changes to my "Village". --Dave

I've just spent quite a while wandering thru the site (again!). Just wanted to congratulate you on a superb job. If there were awards for this sort of thing you would seriously deserve one. The high professional standard is truly a credit to your hard work. Keep it up mate. Respect is due! --Nick Lockett

Just a quick thank you for your efforts on producing Virtual Portmeirion. My family and I will be travelling back to the UK this summer (our second visit in as many years) but will be visiting Portmeirion for the first time. As old "Prisoner" fans, your web site has been invaluable to get the lay of the land andto plan our visit. Again, many thanks. --Robb Wolov

What a wonderful tribute to Portmeirion you've built! My husband and I stayed there for three days in 1983 -- and could have spent a lifetime there. I thoroughly enjoy your site. Just tell me that Portmeirion hasn't changed from so many years ago -- because I live to return to it! With best regards, Liz Prigge

thanks for the cool site! --jim bunte

I went to wales last week and found Portmeirion by accident. It isn't marked on my maps.... Was really impressed and decided to check out the web when I got home. Your site is outstanding and by far the best one on the subject. (well I think so) I'm currently at University and I have to hand in an essay early next week, which involved comparing two designed objects. I have decided to compare your web site with a guidebook (The site comes out tops!). Unfortunately the essay isn't so good becaue as usual i left everything till the last minute. I'll let you know how I get on.... Well done --Amanda Hartshorn. Nottingham. UK

I've just spent an hour or more hopping round your web pages. I'm very impressed. What you've done is a mammoth undertaking and I think you've executed it very well. I'd like to write a review of it for "In The Village" (hope my memory's not failing me and it's been done already). It's one of those things that once someone's done it you realise what an ideal and obvious choice somewhere like Portmeirion is for such a treatment - but I hadn't though of doing it - and, obviously, neither had Portmeirion!! --Simon Coward

Just spent a couple of hours doing your virtual tour and exploring the other links you have provided. What a great job you've done! I'm really impressed with all the work you've put into this! Fascinating! --Kathy Lowe

Your Portmeirion Web site is a real delight! I found it yesterday and it's been a joy to wander around the village again without the usual three hour drive it takes us to get there. (I'd imagine it takes you a good deal longer...) From time to time people ask me where they can find out about Portmeirion - now I know just where to send them. In fact I've just been e-mailing customers who've asked me in the past. Thank you very much for the mention on your multi-media page. That was very much the icing on the cake for me! Regards, and many thanks --Mike Simmons

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your site. I almost got there in 1993 but stuff went wrong and it looks like I'll NEVER get there. Your site made me feel a little better. --Nancy Garven

I LOVE your virtual tour. It's the very best site I've ever come across in my daily web-surfing. My family is going to Portmeirion later in September for a week... I can't wait! Thanks so much for all your trouble. The page is fantastic. --Craig Conley, Florida

hi from connecticut! we love Portmeirion too--have been visiting every year for the last four summers. Thanks for the virtual tour--brought back lots of great memories. --Paul Zotos

Quite detailed and quite surprisingly good. The hotel people should be happy with you. It may even convince a tightwad like myself to stay there awhile when I travel to Great Britain. Don't fall off your bik., --ggf

I enjoyed looking through your collection of Portmeirion photographs immensely. I have been holidaying in Portmeirion all my life. I am now 22 years old and have been at least once every year of my life. As you can imagine I have quite a collection of photographs many are quite different from your own. Me and my family were staying in White Horses the night of the fire. We didn't know anything about it untill the morning when me and my dad went to fetch the newspaper. I am sure my dad would have some very interesting facts for you about the village. --Lorraine Parsons

i'm a fellow admirer of portmeirion, and your tour is absolutely brilliant. thank you for putting it together, it was obviously done with a lot of love and care. last summer i moved from the midlands (england) to the soath coast. before the move, it was possible to indulge my obsession - portmeirion - every weekend, often just for the day, sometimes when funds and work allowed, for longer. now i am a days drive away and i'm very homesick! i was able to stay there last december and next week - it's the prisoner convention (another obsession) so i'll be there again. i shall be visiting virtual portmeirion frequently. thank you very much. be seeing you, --tony mono

Bravo! We think your site is right smart! What is it that makes Portmeirion so positively compelling? Be seeing you! --Ian McGreggor
