Fort Henry

Fort Henry was built by Clough Williams-Ellis as a folly play fort during the 1930s in the style of a ruined fort. It was constructed at a place called Diving Board Point. There is a semi-circular bay next to it. The tiny bay and fort have been a popular sunbathing spot of hotel guests for decades. It is accessed by low tide and walking up the beach from the quayside or from bottom of the Battery Steps. The color pictures were taken in 2001; the black and white photo dates from about 1935. It is also called "Fort Ruin".
