Gloriette (Yr Orchestfa)
The Gloriette, named after a palace in Austria, is a decorative facade rather than a building. It overlooks the piazza and was built in the mid 1960s. Access from the roadway passing behind the structure brings you onto the balcony level formed by five mermaid panels and four of the Ionic columns saved from Hooton Hall in Cheshire and stored for 30 years. Five trompe l'oeil windows surround the open doorway. |
Back of the Gloriette, along the walkway that runs behind it. A couple of steps lead to a doorway that opens onto the balcony. |

Left: An interesting angle. Visitors may look through the Gothuc Pavilion to the Gloriette at the end of the Piazza. |
