How to get to Portmeirion on the train from London:

From London Euston to Bangor (a change may be necessary at Crewe) and takes approximately four hours. A taxi to Portmeirion from Bangor takes about forty-five minutes to an hour and costs approximately £45.

An alternative rail route which we do not recommend is from Euston station in London, to Minfordd via Shrewsbury, with changes. Be warned that it starts off as an express service, but downgrades to a slow train which stops at every station. The final stop will put you down at Minffordd, about one and a half miles from Portmeirion. This journey can take over 7 hours. There is no taxi available at Minffordd.

Contact the National Rail Enquiries service by phone (+44 345 484950). It is advisable that visitors make seat reservations for train journeys from airports and ferry ports, or when intending to travel during the busiest holiday periods.

A twice-daily through coach service from Victoria Coach Station in London (about half a mile from Victoria train station) to Caernarfon (some buses go direct to Porthmadog). In summer it's necessary to get the bus tickets in advance. From Caernarfon or Porthmadog, continue by taxi to Portmeirion.

Local bus services change their details quite often so to help you a National Enquiry Service has been set up on +44 891 910 910 (06.00 - 21.00 daily).
