How to get to Portmeirion driving from Manchester:
From Manchester (Airport) take the M56 (west) leading onto the A550. Follow signs for the A55 and North Wales. Follow A55 expressway to Llandudno Junction, turn left onto A470 for Betws-y-Coed, Dolwyddelan then Blenau Ffestiniog. Follow signs for Porthmadog. Portmeirion is one and a half miles beyond Penrhyndeudraeth, signposted from the main road at Minffordd. One hundred and twenty miles, drive time: two and a half hours to three hours.

How to get to Portmeirion on the train from Manchester:
From Manchester Airport Station, catch train to Crewe (roughly hourly service; check schedules). Change to a Bangor train at Crewe and get off at Bangor. A taxi to Portmeirion from Bangor takes about forty-five minutes to an hour and costs approximately £45.
Contact the National Rail Enquiries service by phone (+44 345 484950). It is advisable that visitors make seat reservations for train journeys from airports, or when intending to travel during the busiest holiday periods.
