Portmeirion appears to be a natural place for peacocks to run free, and indeed, several attempts have been made over the years to have them on the grounds. The last time was in the mid-nineties, but the birds had to be relocated to a bird sanctuary near Bala because their raucous noises were waking up the guests in the wee hours of the morning. Now you can enjoy our "virtual" peacocks.
