Piazza and Arch

Portmeirion Piazza

Covering the northeastern quarter of the village green, The Piazza was originally a tennis court. Since 1966, when Portmeirion celebrated its 40th anniversary, the piazza has been a level paved area with a blue tiled pond and fountain surrounded by flower beds. At the southern limits of the piazza are two - of a set of eight - columns each supporting a gilded Burmese dancing figure. The Piazza is headed by the Gloriette on one end and steps leading down to the Gothic Pavilion on the other.

Not strictly part of the Piazza, this picture shows the archway exit from a north-south pathway across the green.
