Playhouse (Caban Clyweled)

Portmeirion Playhouse

Built originally in 1961 to be a children's games room, the Playhouse is located just off the Salutation car park and is partly hidden by trees. Today it houses the Audio-Visual presentation in which the architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis narrates the story of the creation of Portmeirion. The presentation, lasting about 20 minutes, repeats every half hour, and is free. Unusual for Portmeirion, the building is a prefabricated structure.
