Priors Lodging (Lletyr Prior)
Priors Lodging was built in the late 1920s, restored 1986, and was so named because the first guest was the Prior of the Caldy Island monastery. Upper Left Photo: This picture was taken from the Battery Square side, and shows the arch through which they used to drive cars when the ground floor was a garage. Upper Right Photo: This picture is of the estuary side, and is not visible to day visitors. Lower Left Photo: This doorway, once part of Sir Clough's London studio, seems to be a grand entrance, but it only is a walkway to the real door. Lower Right Photo: Old photo showing the building being used as a garage and Battery Square before Round House and Lady's Lodge were built.
