Ten Romantic things to do at Portmeirion
A lady's comment as she was shown round Portmeirion:
"My goodness, if I had ever honeymooned here,
I should have wanted to have at least two husbands."

1. Throw a coin in the wishing well. Try to get it to fall within the dolphin circle and your wish may come true.

2. Get your picture taken while sitting in the Prince of Wales shelter in the woods. The faux finish on it is great fun to look at.

3. Have a picnic in the Stone Temple or Ting overlooking the lake. Bring your own, or call the Hotel the night before and the restaurant staff will make up a lovely picnic bag of sandwiches, fruit, bara brith, crackers & cheese, and bottled water. For even more luxury, buy a bottle of champagne at the Pot Jam.

4. Play Romeo and Juliette using the Gloriette as the Balcony. This marvelous folly has wonderful views across the piazza and the whole village green. Have a seat and watch the world go by.

5. Have a romantic dinner for two in the Hotel Portmeirion's Dining Room. There are exquisite three course meals available, and you can choose a table near the windows to see the sunset over the estuary.

6. Take a romantic walk on the beach. Portmeirion has a wonderful beach as well as glorious flowered woodlands that are just made for exploring.

7. Celebrate your honeymoon by staying in the Peacock Suite of the Hotel. The suite contains an antique French four poster bed, a lovely sitting room with fireplace, and handpainted tiles in the onsuite bathroom.

8. Have a royal stay in Royal Dolphin. The story is that the Prince of Wales (later Edward VIII) and Wallis Simpson stayed in this cozy flat that overlooks the estuary.

9. Spend a weekend in the Watch House. This cottage is one of the most popular at Portmeirion with couples looking for privacy and fantastic views of the estuary. You can sit on the private portico and sip your tea while looking down on the estuary and hotel below.

10. What could be more romantic than getting married at Portmeirion? Civil wedding ceremonies are now available to be performed in the Hercules Hall.
