A site featuring Satellite - or'Magic'- Traffic Roundabouts in the UK

Satellite traffic rounderbouts in the UK.

This website attemps to explain the design and function of the Satellite Traffic Roundabouts - affectionately known as 'Magic Roundabouts' from the popular childrens TV show of the 60's.

In design they are a combination of several mini-roundabouts and a regular roundabout, except for one vital difference - traffic flows round in both directions!

There aren't very many of them. In fact personally I only know of two. I hope surfers will know of others and e-mail in to tell us of them.

When the 'Magic' roundabout opened in June 1973, traffic came to a complete standstill and was backed up to Berkhamsted! (Dacorum Council Minutes)
